Premier Oil revealed Thursday that Elisabeth Proust will join the company’s board as an independent non-executive director - and member of the health, safety, environment and security committee and nomination committee - on April 1.
Proust, who spent more than 35 years with Total SA in several leadership roles, will stand for election by shareholders at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) on May 12, Premier outlined. Proust is currently a non-executive director for Subsea 7.
Premier also revealed Thursday that Robin Allan, the company’s executive director for the UK and North Sea, will be leaving the board at the close of the AGM on May 12. Allan will continue to work for Premier on a part-time consultancy basis, with a particular focus on ESG matters and Premier’s response to the climate change agenda, Premier noted.
“I am delighted to welcome Elisabeth to the board,” Roy Franklin, chairman of Premier Oil, said in a company statement.
“Elisabeth’s technical and operational experience and skills within the exploration and production industry will be of enormous value to the board and the company as a whole,” he added.
“I would particularly like to thank Robin Allan for his significant contribution to Premier. Robin has been an executive board member for over 16 years and his contribution to the company is marked both by his achievements within the business and with industry bodies such as Oil and Gas UK and BRINDEX,” Franklin continued.
Premier describes itself as an international oil and gas exploration and production company. The business, which traces its roots back to 1934, is based in London and has several other offices around the globe, according to its website.
In a separate statement on Thursday, Premier reported profit after tax of $164 million in 2019. This figure stood at $133 million last year.
